Architecture Student Summer School 2014

2014 summer school participants visiting project with Peter Stutchbury

The tenth annual 'Total Immersion' Architecture Student Summer School, a one-week residential studio based program, took place again at Pittwater north of Sydney 16-22 February, during the Australian summer break. It was attended by 32 senior architecture students from across Australia and New Zealand and other international visitors from Bangladesh and Slovenia, most of whom had completed the first degree program in Architecture. Principal tutors Richard Leplastrier and Peter Stutchbury led the design program addressing issues of rehabilitation and intervention in a scenic and culturally sensitive site in the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park on the shores of the great Pittwater maritime inlet. The landscape spans from water edge mangrove and beach sand to rugged sandstone cliffs and outcrops and angophora vegetation. Other tutors included landscape architect Craig Burton. The event was led by Foundation convener Lindsay Johnston.
