Peter Stutchbury and Richard Leplastrier with Sri B V Doshi in Bangalore 2015

Australian architects Richard Leplastrier and Peter Stutchbury had the honour of sharing the platform and studio critiques with famous Indian architect Sri B V Doshi during a workshop in Bangalore organised by Murcutt Master Class alumnus Bijoy Ramachandran under the auspices of the Vimal Jain Foundation, a not for profit organisation founded in memory of Bangalore based architect Vimal Jain, who died tragically in 2011. The aim of the Foundation is to bring design discourse and practice into the public realm through workshops, lectures and exhibitions.

For the 2015 workshop, participants were invited to study the edges of the Indian Institute of Management (Bangalore) and suggest ways in which to negotiate the chaotic urban environment on the street with the serene quality of the campus. The IIMB campus was designed by Doshi, Vastu Shilpa Consultants and Kanvinde Rai & Chaudhury, and is one of India's modern architectural masterpieces.

The program was presented in association with the Architecture Foundation Australia.
