Rick Joy Vermont

IMMERSION MASTER CLASS, WOODSTOCK FARMHOUSE, VERMONT

August 2015, Australian Architects Peter Stutchbury and Richard Leplastrier joined Arizona based Architect Rick Joy as master tutors for the Immersion Vermont Master Class. The program was presented by Immersion Workshop in cooperation with Architecture Foundation Australia.

The class was held at Rick Joy's widely-published Woodstock Farm House and Barn project, which the client generously provided for the group's use. The week-long class was filled with great discussion, lectures from each of the tutors, and in depth exploration into the unique context of the farm, which also served as the site for a program-long design exercise. The group also toured Louis Kahn's Exeter Academy Library, and received a guest lecture and critique from Landscape Architect Michael Bucher from Maine.

This was the 5th program organized by Immersion Workshop - founded by Scott Lawrence (who was a participant on the 2010 Glen Murcutt Master Class in Australia) and Kevin Nguyen - and the second year their collaboration with Architecture Foundation Australia, following up on a 2013 Master Class in Telluride, Colorado.
