Iconic Houses Exhibition - taking Architecture to the Community

The exhibition is based on the two fine books by Karen McCartney, ‘Iconic Australian Houses 50|60|70’ and ‘Iconic Australian Houses 70|80|90’ and was initiated by the Architecture Foundation Australia, and jointly curated by Karen McCartney and Lindsay Johnston. Major sponsor of the development of the exhibition was Nowra company Stormtech (Grates and Drainage Channels). It is being toured by Sydney Living Museums and is supported by an Australian
Government ‘Visions of Australia’ Grant.
The exhibition has now shown at the Museum of Sydney, Glasshouse Port Macquarie NSW, Western Plains Cultural Centre Dubbo NSW, Newcastle Gallery NSW, Artspace Mackay QLD, Museum of the Riverina Wagga Wagga NSW, Liverpool Regional Museum NSW, Jam Factory Adelaide SA, Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery VIC, and will be showing at Grafton Regional Gallery NSW and Ipswich Regional Gallery QLD later in 2018, and then at other venues.
