“To me, participating in the Master Class meant a reconnection to the fundamentals of architecture. The way the program deals with nature, the site and its context, the details and intricacies of space was incisive and engaging. We were reminded at the GMMC that architecture is not only a technical endeavour but also a personal journey. A personal journey that every participant chooses, the kind of trip that remains with you forever, with images, feelings, sounds, smells and textures. A trip that finishes and starts again at the moment we try to understand what is it about a project that makes it unique. We all learned about our responsibility to touch the ‘earth lightly’; we all belong to a greater group now, which in its diversity finds its common sense.”
