Glenn Murcutt Master Architecture Class

Participants on the 2015 Glenn Murcutt Master Class at Georges Head Sydney

The 2015 (fifteenth) annual two-week residential Glenn Murcutt International Architecture Master Class, 5 - 19 July 2015, just concluded last Sunday with participants from Bangladesh, Botswana, Canada, China, Greece, India, Iran, Italy, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, USA and Australia . The first week was held, as always, at the Arthur and Yvonne Boyd Education Centre, designed by Glenn Murcutt, with Wendy Lewin and Reg Lark, and was led by Glenn Murcutt with other tutors Richard Leplastrier, Brit Andresen and Peter Stutchbury with program convener Lindsay Johnston (at right). The second week was held in a heritage building in inner Sydney. Participants undertook a studio program to design an art gallery for the works of Arthur Boyd to be located adjacent to the Boyd centre at 'Riversdale' on the Shoalhaven River. The program included visits to Glenn Murcutt's Simpson-Lee House in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney and houses by Richard Leplastrier (Hon International Fellow RIBA 2015) and Peter Stutchbury (2015 Gold Medallist of the Australian Institute of Architects). The annual program will be held again in 2016 dates have been set 3 - 17 July 2016.
