About the Master Class
We hope this ten day 2024 Murcutt Master Class will in some way match up to the experience of the previous two-week Murcutt International Architecture Master Classes, and the excellent one-week Murcutt Master Classes held at Tocal College in June 2021, 2022 and 2023. The Murcutt Master Classes have been held each year since 2001, and have been described as a huge inspiration and possibly, as has been suggested by many previous participants, a ‘life changing’ experience. You will see some astoundingly good architecture and meet some great people, and it will bring you into an amazing international network of ‘alumni’ who keep in touch across the globe, fostering international visits and exchanges and communicating ideas and experiences.

Testimonials
I wanted to thank you for the amazing course you put together. I can honestly say that this entire experience has been life changing for me and I do seriously intend to return to Australia for a longer period of time in pursuit of more architectural knowledge.
This Master Class have been a concentrate of emotions. Two incredible weeks that I’ll never forget. Kind people, delightful landscapes, enchanting animals, sweet colours.
A warm thanks to everyone who participated in, directed or supported the class. I will forever appreciate all the students and mentors. Working for a project with a diverse group in such a short time…..all that we learned….all the words we learned!!
GMMC was a wonderful experience. As time passes you realise it more and more. I want to meet all you again… the relations are so deep and wide that any small scratch on any friend, there will be a pain in me… and that is more than a happy friendship.
When the planes land, and the spirits arrive, the sense of fusion is Immediate. Overwhelming yet familiar sense of belonging on having found what was lacking within us.
….after two weeks I can say that the Master Class experience IS a life changing experience for me .
A fortnight at the Glenn Murcutt Master Class was just what I needed to rediscover my architectural centre.
The way the program deals with nature, the site and its context, the details and intricacies of space was incisive and engaging.
To anyone wondering if it is worth the expense, I would tell them the first night alone is worth it.

About Us
The Architecture Foundation Australia is a not-for-profit organisation, the chair of which is Australia’s most internationally regarded architect, Glenn Murcutt. The Foundation has been running Master Classes for professional architects and architecture students since 2001. Over 2000 people, young and old, have participated in our programs from over 80 nations around the world.
The centrepiece program is the annual Glenn Murcutt International Architecture Master Class which was held at the Boyd Centre ‘Riversdale’ until 2019 and more recently at Tocal College in the Hunter Valley. Other professional Masterclasses have been held in New Zealand, South Africa and Ireland. An annual one-week Summer School for senior architecture students has been held each year in February at the Pittwater YHA since 2005.
